Although Maryland online sports betting is getting closer, sports fans could be feeling the itch as we’re in the midst of football season, MLB playoffs are here, the 2022 NHL season is about to take the ice, and the 2022 NBA season is nearing tipoff. Luckily for bettors who want to get in on the action, there are several Maryland sports betting locations throughout the state.
Here are seven places you can bet in Maryland right now.
Maryland’s Retail Sportsbook Locations
As of this writing, there are seven retail sportsbooks spread across The Old Line State.
Maryland Retail Sportsbook | Sportsbook Operator | Address |
Live! Casino and Hotel | FanDuel | 7002 Arundel Hills, Hanover |
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore | Caesars | 1525 Russell St, Baltimore |
Bingo World Baltimore | BetRivers | 4901 Belle Grove Rd, Baltimore |
MGM National Harbor | BetMGM | 101 MGM National Ave, Oxon Hill |
Ocean Downs Casino | TwinSpires | 10218 Racetrack Rd, Berlin |
Hollywood Casino Perryville | Barstool | 1201 Chesapeake Overlook Pkwy, Perryville |
Riverboat on the Potomac | PointsBet | 301 Beach Terrace, Colonial Beach, VA 22443 |
FanDuel Sportsbook at Live! Casino and Hotel
The FanDuel retail sportsbook in Maryland leads the way in terms of handle, or the amount of money wagered by bettors. Located just 15 miles from Inner Harbor, sports fans can place bets 24/7 at one of the 60 self-service betting kiosks or at one of 10 betting windows until midnight.
Caesars at Horseshoe Casino Baltimore
The Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore was recently renovated which included launching the Caesars retail sportsbook. The combination of its proximity to M&T Stadium and Camden Yards and its sports betting partnership with the Baltimore Ravens makes it a popular spot.
BetRivers at Bingo World Baltimore
Having just opened at the beginning of August, the BetRivers Sportsbook at Bingo World marked the first retail sportsbook in Maryland not located at a casino.
BetMGM at MGM National Harbor
The site of the very first legal bet placed in Maryland, the BetMGM Sportsbook at MGM National Harbor is the best location for those close to Washington D.C.
TwinSpires Sportsbook at Ocean Downs Casino
TwinSpires is the only mobile app listed here that is strictly for horse racing. Owned by Churchill Downs Inc., the company decided to bail from mobile sports betting earlier this year but kept its retail sportsbooks and focused solely on horse racing betting.
Barstool Sportsbook at Hollywood Casino Perryville
The Barstool Sportsbook at Hollywood Casino in Perryville will be revamped in the coming weeks as a brand new restaurant will be coming to the casino. The space will also serve as a lounge to place your wagers and catch all the action.
PointsBet Sportsbook at Riverboat on the Potomac
Despite the Virginia address, the Riverboat on the Potomac was granted a Maryland sports betting license because Maryland owns the Potomac River. This is also the most recent retail sportsbook to launch in the state. PointsBet also has a betting partnership with the University of Maryland.
When are Online Sportsbooks Coming to Maryland?
There’s finally light at the end of this long, dark tunnel. Recently, the Sports Wagering Application Review Committee and Maryland Lottery stated sportsbooks would be allowed to launch on a rolling basis and could start as early as November.
This means as soon as a particular sportsbook is given the stamp of approval and officially licensed, it can open its platform to those in Maryland. There will be no universal launch date for all approved Maryland mobile apps.
For those who want to learn the ins and outs of mobile sports betting in the meantime, there is an option. The Fliff Sports Betting app functions very similarly to real-money online sportsbooks but no deposit or purchase is necessary. Users “wager” with the site’s own digital currency.
