Here is some of what Maryland bettors can expect at the BetMGM Sportsbook at MGM National Harbor.

What Kind of Bets Can You Place at the BetMGM Maryland Retail Sportsbook?
You can place nearly every type of wager you could think of at the BetMGM retail sportsbook in Oxon Hill:
- Moneyline
- Spread
- Totals
- Game Props
- Player Props
- Parlays
- Teasers
- Futures
- In-play/live bets
The most common types of bets are moneyline, spreads, and totals. Moneyline bets tend to be the most popular among those new to sports betting because you’re simply wagering on who you think will win the event.
Spread bets aim to level the playing field by applying a margin of victory to the final score. For example, in the Ravens’ Week 1 game against the New York Jets, Baltimore is favored by 7 points, per BetMGM. This means the Ravens have to win by 8 or more points to “cover” the spread and win your bet. If the margin of victory was exactly 7 points, your bet would result in a “push” and you would get your wager back.
Totals, or “over/under” bets, look at the total amount of points or runs scored by both teams in an event. As an example, the September 7th game between the Washington Nationals at St. Louis Cardinals, the total was set at 7.5 runs. Over bettors would need 8 or more total runs scored, while the under would hit with 7 or fewer total runs.
