FanDuel Sportsbook at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland

By Cody Kutzer

FanDuel will be one of the Maryland online sports betting apps available to bettors in the state once the Sports Wagering Application Review Committee (SWARC) reviews and finalizes the recently opened mobile licensing application window. Until then, sports fans will have to settle for in-person betting at one of the six options across Maryland, which includes the FanDuel Sportsbook at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland.

What can bettors in the Old Line State expect from FanDuel’s retail sportsbook?

Types of Bets You Can Place at FanDuel Sportsbook Live! Casino

Spread – Bets that are placed against a margin of victory, meant to level the playing field.

Totals – Wagers on the amount of total points or runs scored by both teams.

Moneyline – The most simple of the wagers, you’re simply betting on who you think will win the event, regardless of points scored.

FanDuel Mobile App Coming Soon

SWARC opening the online sportsbook licensing application window is a key step in finally bringing mobile wagering to Maryland. Operators will have until October 21 to apply for their license. When the application window closes, the committee will have 45 days to review all of the applications.

There’s finally light at the end of the tunnel.

One of the key differences between mobile sports betting apps and their retail counterparts is the availability of bonus offers and promotions. FanDuel’s standard new user offer is a $1,000 risk-free first bet. If your first bet settles in a loss, FanDuel will match 100% of your wager, as a free bet credit, up to $1,000. It’s quite possible FanDuel adds to this welcome offer or ups the ante in order to gain more customers. In fact, FanDuel currently has a limited-time offer of $150 in free bets for simply placing a $5 bet.

Other than the convenience of being able to place wagers from anywhere within Maryland, FanDuel bettors will be able to place even more types of wagers with the apps. This includes live, in-game betting, futures, player props, and more.

They say good things come to those who wait, and this certainly applies to Maryland’s online sports betting market.
