Much to their dismay, Maryland bettors are still awaiting an official launch date for online sports betting. Although Maryland’s Sports Wagering Application Review Committee (SWARC) recently made progress concerning draft regulations and applications, the committee is still being held back by the incomplete disparity study. While we don’t know when bettors in The Old Line State will be able to place wagers from their phones, we do know some of the sportsbooks that will be available in the state.

Thanks to their partnership with the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore, the Caesars Sportsbook app will be available when the time comes. What can you expect from Caesars Maryland when it launches? Let’s take a look.

Competitive Odds

The increasing amount of competition among online sportsbooks doesn’t allow operators to offer subpar odds. This is especially true in Maryland, where the sports betting law allows for up to 60 online sportsbooks. Still, it’s good to know Caesars Maryland will offer users odds that hold up to other top sportsbooks.

Here’s an example comparing Caesars’ moneyline odds from the Orioles game against the Texas Rangers on August 3 to DraftKings and FanDuel:

Sportsbook Orioles/Rangers Moneyline Odds
Caesars +130/-155
FanDuel +128/-152
DraftKings +130/-150

Caesars and DraftKings offer the best moneyline odds for the Orioles at +130 by a slight margin, while DraftKings has the best price for the Rangers at -150.

Let’s also compare futures odds for the Baltimore Ravens:

Sportsbook AFC North Odds AFC Champion Odds
Caesars +165 +1100
FanDuel +170 +1000
DraftKings +165 +1000

Bettors who want to back the Ravens to take down the AFC North would place their wager with FanDuel, whereas Caesars Maryland gives you the best odds for the AFC Championship winner.

These examples are obviously a small sample size but they show you can trust Caesars Maryland to offer odds on par with two of the biggest sportsbooks in the industry.

Caesars Maryland Bonus and Promotions

Sportsbooks will no doubt be offering their best new user bonuses once Maryland online sports betting launches. Online operators are also stepping up their game when it comes to ongoing promotions for existing users.

Caesars’ New User Promotion

If you’ve never set up a Caesars Sportsbook account you can take advantage of a new user bonus. In most states where Caesars Sportsbook is licensed and legal, they are currently offering a risk-free first bet worth up to $1,500. As far as risk-free bets go, this is one of the highest values. FanDuel, for example, offers a similar new user promotion but it has a maximum value of $1,000. With these sign-up bonuses, your first bet essentially comes with a “safety net”. If the first wager you place results in a loss, Caesars will give you a site credit equal to the value of your bet, up to $1,500.

Ongoing Promotions

The promotions from Caesars don’t stop once your foot is in the door. The sportsbook does a good job of offering different promos and bonuses throughout the year for existing users. Here are a few examples that were available on August 3:

  • MLB Parlay Bet and Get: If you place a 4-leg parlay bet of at least $10 and it loses, Caesars will give you a free $10 bet to use on any MLB game.
  • Caesars Odds Boosts
    • No run first inning in the Tigers/Twins, Orioles/Rangers, and Royals/White Sox game, boosted from +510 to +575
    • There were also boosts available for golf and soccer
  • Caesars Rewards: You can earn Caesars Rewards for every wager you place, win or lose. You can then redeem these for bonuses, sports tickets, dining, getaways, and VIP experiences.

Top-Notch Mobile Betting Experience

The Caesars app is one of the highest-rated in the industry. Android and iOS users can feel confident using the Caesars Sportsbook app, as it carries a 4.4 and 4.6-star rating, respectively, with more than 10,000 reviews on both platforms.

The Caesars Sportsbook app features a sleek design that is easy to use and navigate no matter what sport or event you want to wager on. The app is already available in fourteen states plus Washington D.C., indicating the app is also safe to use from a security standpoint. Caesars can also be expected to launch in states where sports betting is set to expand, such as Ohio, Kansas, and Caesars Sportsbook Texas.

Why won’t someone press government officials on why this hasn’t been resolved? Sports gambling was approved via vote over 17 MONTHS ago. Reputable and viable online applications are all available and working well. There is no developmental work needed.

All other states that have passed laws for online sports gambling have easily moved forward. This ABSURD.
