Advocates for changing the definition of marriage, and those in favor of keeping the traditional one man-one woman definition, took turns testifying before the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee on Tuesday.

Religious leaders, family members, and children testified on both sides of the issue. Among those testifying in this podcast are Gov. Martin O’Malley. Some unexpected testimony came from a homosexual man, Doug Mainwaring, who is against changing the definition of marriage.

Bottom line: gay couples can gain the same legal rights without infringing on the traditional definition of marriage. This is the achilles heal of the proponents of same sex marriage. It’s never been about gay rights, it’s all about forcing acceptance by changing the definition of marriage.
