During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic Hogan angered many MAGA-type Republicans by imposing lockdowns and mandates. “Just wear a damn mask” and “Just get the damn vaccine” were frequent retorts by the governor. Hogan also angered many conservatives by calling out Trump on his demonstrably false claim that the 2020 presidential election had been stolen and by calling for Trump to resign following the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of the then-president.

In Maryland raccoons, skunks, foxes, bats and woodchucks are among the animals that pose the highest risk for rabies, according to an algorithm developed by the Center for Zoonotic and Vector-borne Diseases, the agency that responds to rabies in the state.

A Gallup poll released last month showed that while 58% of Americans said they would get an FDA-approved COVID vaccine that is made available free of cost; 42% said that they would not. So what about that 42%? What happens if their employer insists that they get the vaccine and they refuse?
