Which Maryland Sportsbooks Will Have The Best Washington Commanders Odds?

By Tyler Wombles

Maryland sports fans are in a good spot.

The state already boasts retail gambling and is expected to launch mobile sports betting sooner rather than later. It’s helping lead the way for other states to do the same; for example, sports betting isn’t yet available in Texas, but it could be in the next few years and fans will be able to make use of Texas sports betting bonuses and platforms.

Once mobile sports gambling is live in Maryland, bettors will be able to place wagers on the hometown Washington Commanders from wherever they please.

So which Maryland sportsbooks will have the best odds on the Commanders?

DraftKings

For top odds on the Commanders and the rest of the NFL, bettors will surely find what they need at DraftKings.

One of the top players in the game, DraftKings is the go-to platform for many NFL bettors. Whether it’s the Commanders or any other team in the league, DraftKings provides arguably the best odds around. For those who enjoy putting money down on professional football, this is a dream come true.

Plus, the DraftKings Sportsbook app also lets users access plenty of features, such as live betting, daily promotions and other exclusive bonuses and offers, and even more. All of these features are expected to be available for Maryland bettors as soon as they are able to start betting with the platform.

It should also be super easy for Maryland bettors to download and access the app once mobile sports betting is live in the state. All they have to do is find it on the App or Google Play Store and download it. After that, they can create an account and finalize other matters such as making their initial deposit before placing wagers on their preferred teams, including the Commanders.

FanDuel

Another betting platform sure to offer big-time odds on the Commanders is FanDuel. After all, the company and the franchise are even in a market access partnership announced in early 2021.

“When this truly unique opportunity presented itself, it was a natural fit to strategically align with our long-time partner, FanDuel, as we knew they’d establish a best in class sports betting marketplace, grounded by innovation and consumer protection,” Washington Senior Vice President for Corporate Partnerships & Hospitality Scott Shepherd said in a release.

“We’re very excited for all this groundbreaking partnership will offer our valued fans throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia as part of their game day experience.”

And there are plenty of other reasons for bettors to go with FanDuel, too.

FanDuel is known for providing top-tier odds on plenty of sports, including professional football. For those wanting to use it to bet on the NFL, there should be no disappointment here, as the league is one of the top draws for all betting platforms, FanDuel certainly included.

Same as with DraftKings, it should be easy for Maryland bettors to download and start using the FanDuel Sportsbook app, too. They will just have to find it on the store for their preferred device, put in personal information, make an account and start betting with some of the best odds around.

Commanders look to build under Wentz

The Commanders will likely be on bettors’ minds this season after what’s been a dramatic offseason.

After a 7-10 season, Washington wasted no time in trying to upgrade the game’s most important position, acquiring Carson Wentz from the Indianapolis Colts via trade. It was a major move for the franchise, which is hoping to solidify the quarterback spot for years to come.

Wentz, who will enter his seventh NFL season, threw for 3,563 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions in his lone season with the Colts. It was one of his better campaigns statistically, but he’ll now be with his third different team in as many seasons.

The 29-year-old may just be what Washington needs, though. He still has the potential to extend his career by multiple seasons, and though he ultimately didn’t last in either Philadelphia or Indianapolis, he’s still widely considered a solid starting option.

“Carson Wentz is an upgrade,” ESPN NFL Analyst Matt Bowen said, according to the outlet. “There’s no question you can be more aggressive and more vertical with Carson in your offense, more shots to the third level.

“He is going to challenge opposing defenses. He’ll challenge tight windows inside and outside the pocket.”

Washington has been in the market for a franchise signal-caller for a while, and though Wentz has already played a chunk of his career, there’s hope he will be the team’s long-term answer at the position. If so, he’ll create wins for both the Commanders and Maryland sports fans placing bets on the hometown team.
