Confirming the edge Democrats enjoy and Republicans hate, Maryland is the fourth most Democratic state in the nation, based on hundreds of polls taken this year by the Gallup organization. Maryland Democrats have a 20 point advantage.

Rhode Island, Hawaii and New York are slightly more Democratic than Maryland, but the former slice of Maryland known as the District of Columbia is the most Democratic jurisdiction in the nation.

Gallup’s tracking polls contacted 177,000 U.S. respondents from January through June and 3,571 voters in Maryland.

Gallup says it determines the partisan orientation of each state by subtracting the total percentage of adults identifying as or leaning Republican from those identifying as or leaning Democratic, thus creating a “Democratic advantage” figure.

Based on that, 54% of Maryland voters call themselves Democrats or “lean Democratic,” giving them a 20 point edge over the 34% of Marylanders who call themselves Republicans or lean Republican.

This makes Maryland slightly more Democratic than Massachusetts and neighboring Delaware. View the complete rankings here.

Except for California and Hawaii, the most Democratic states are in the East. The most Republican states are Utah, Idaho and Wyoming.

And WHY, pray tell, would the AA community ever want to consider that? Maybe, because they’ve showed their (GOP) compassion, commitment and empathy regarding early childhood learning, funding the Harriet Tubman Nat’l Park, school lunches, jobs, healthcare, etc…OH, WAIT…THEY (GOP) HAVEN”T!!  Especially, look at the terrible record of Tea-Party Republican, Andy “Dr No” Harris (R-MD-1st)…what hypocrisy in voting for the Tubman Park, but then, refusing to provide any funding! BTW…it’s the ONLY piece of the Nat’l Park System that wasn’t funded…tell ya something??

All you want is hand outs. Gimme Gimme Gimme.  You and the Democrats love seeing African Americans as a helpless dependant class.  No personal responsibility, just receiving “gument” handouts. The liberal black leaders have done nothing to promote personal responsibility among the black community.  Just remember that socialism works fine until you run out of other peoples’ money but you don’t care about that because you have no self respect nor do you promote the work ethic. People like you promote laziness, crime, illegitimate births and ghetto living.  You’re as anti-American as they come.

Ed…You certainly have a way with words!! You don’t know me at all, however, you have exposed yourself as more interested in personal attacks than providing any substance or sources for your allegations. Of course, when bigots are speaking from emotions, rather than intellect, they provide the type of divisive, uninformed content you’ve given us. Your language and chosen words speak volumes about your hatred and bigoted, prejudiced attitudes. I don’t think anyone can contest that!

Until significant numbers of African Americans turn away from the Democrat Party and affiliate with the Republican Party, Maryland will remain a bastion of the Democrat Party.
