Taxpayers are paying for a lengthy study that concluded a proposed $15 minimum wage in Montgomery County would lead to fewer jobs, but which businesses participated in the study isn’t being made public.

Gov.-elect Hogan continues to work on his relationship with Comptroller Peter Franchot, who holds a key vote on the three-member Board of Public Works, which will review all of the major contracts of the Hogan administration. Hogan has continued to meet with key Democrats, office holders and interest groups throughout the state as he prepares to take office in a month and submit a budget.

The Democratic primaries in Montgomery County, are shaping up as the most interesting and contentious races prior to the general election’s expected O’Malley-Ehrlich rematch.
Montgomery county is Maryland’s most populous jurisdiction, and has no Republicans in elected office. Still, many of the Democratic incumbents are facing tough battles in September.
