Violent crime is on the rise throughout Maryland.
Last week saw a gunman open fire in a Smithsburg factory killing three and injuring four others.
The year is not yet even half over and already there have been more than 150 homicides in Baltimore, mostly by shooting, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
