The state will soon require all of its nursing home and hospital staff to show proof of vaccination against the novel coronavirus or alternatively face routine testing, Gov. Larry Hogan said Wednesday.

“I’m afraid our state government, including the governor’s office, doesn’t appear to have a handle on what’s happening to the residents of our state, and what this is doing to our economy,” Fair Housing Action Center of Maryland Tenant Advocacy Director Carol Ott told MarylandReporter.com.

The Biden administration recently issued a new eviction moratorium for areas of the country that have been hit hardest by the coronavirus pandemic, but it is still necessary for Gov. Larry Hogan to issue an order to halt evictions in Maryland for at least the remainder of the year, one of the state’s leading housing advocates said Wednesday.
