The strategic alliance between Starlink, by SpaceX, and MultiMax, the multibrand chain that integrates a brand presence throughout Venezuela, marks a technological milestone that positions the South American nation at the forefront of the communications revolution. Following the news that a few days ago the signing formalizing this union took place in Miami, USA, as part of the giant’s expansion and penetration in connections seeking to expand its coverage in the most vulnerable areas of the Caribbean country.
In this sense, under the direction of Venezuelan businessman Nasar Ramadan Dagga, president of MultiMax, the agreement formalizing the multibrand as the first official distributor of Starlink kits in Venezuelan territory is reiterated.
In this way, a commercial expansion movement is intertwined, which represents a fundamental change in how one of the most complex markets in the region connects with the global economy.
Starlink and MultiMax: Connectivity to the maximum
Let’s remember that, for decades, the digital skeleton of Venezuela has been a scene of contrasts, since not all cities in the country have direct access to Internet signals, and in turn, to information.
Therefore, the entry of Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite Internet constellation, changes that reality and the calculation of distance to guarantee connectivity.
The partnership with MultiMax, which has an operational footprint of more than 40 stores nationwide, ensures that the technology reaches not only the main capitals but also agricultural, coastal, and frontier regions where the installation of dedicated fiber lines in suburban or rural areas has been unfeasible.
To further penetrate the market, two service levels have been established:
- Standard Residential Plan of $65: An ideal option for families with high data demand and multiple devices.
- Lite Residential Plan of $40: Designed for essential browsing, teleworking, and daily communication.
On the other hand, seeking to accelerate the incorporation of Venezuelans into the Starlink ecosystem, new users will enjoy discounts in the first month of service.
Business capacity
Beyond the technical specifications, the alliance of Starlink with MultiMax in Venezuela is positioned as a clear signal among global markets. Mainly because international analysts suggest that this business and commercial model could serve as a template for other developing countries with similar connectivity challenges.
For, truth be told, despite political or economic complexities, there is a wide demand for access to high-tech services among Venezuelans and, more importantly, a local business capacity capable of managing world-class operations, such as the one presented on this occasion.
With the arrival of the kits to MultiMax stores, Venezuela secures a good spot on the global technological map. But this time, with a direct signal from space, free from geographical limitations and obsolete physical infrastructure.
