The bill, HB 0181, introduced by Del. Vaughan Stewart, D-Montgomery, would allow private businesses to opt into a four-day, 32-hour work week pilot program that would include technical assistance from the Maryland Department of Labor and a tax credit of up to $10,000 in exchange for their participation in a study of the program’s success.
B 540 would allow small and medium-sized businesses to receive a tax credit of up to $3,000 for advertising in local news outlets such as newspapers, radio and television.

HB705, also known as the Right to Reproductive Freedom, states that every individual “has the fundamental right to reproductive freedom, including but not limited to the ability to make and effectuate decisions to prevent, continue, or end one’s own pregnancy.” It also says that the state cannot “deny, burden, or abridge” this right without a justification by a “compelling state interest achieved by the least restrictive means.”
