Democratic leaders say gas tax hike difficult to pass

Senate President Mike Miller and Speaker of the House of Delegates Michael Busch told a business audience Thursday that while they supported spending more on transportation infrastructure to create jobs, it will be difficult to get a majority vote for raising gas taxes and fees, especially since no Republicans would vote for them.

Wargotz won’t run for Senate again

Former 2010 U.S. Senate Republican nominee Eric Wargotz said he will not enter the 2012 U.S. race for Senate. Citing strong support for incumbent Sen. Benjamin Cardin and President Barack Obama, Wargotz announced his decision late Thursday in a press release.
